Do not let rain spoil your visit to Bled. Stir up your experience with activities that can be done also in bad weather conditions. Use the tips below to discover Bled in rainy weather.

Visit the Bled Castle and museum about the history of Bled and the castle. Bled Castle is the oldest castle in Slovenia and it is also interesting for visit because of the magnificent view that is exceptional in rain and sun. The museum exhibits important findings from the wider Bled area, which show the history of nature and people in this area of Slovenia.

In light rain pletna boats still ride to Bled Island. In heavy rain you can ride to the island with line boats. Enjoy a piece of Slovenian potica at Potičnica and ring the wishing bell.

If you are not disturbed much by the rain and have proper clothes and shoes, you can still walk around Lake Bled. Listen to the sound of the rain drizzling on your umbrella or into the lake. You will enjoy the solitude because there are not many people outside in rainy days. If the Vintgar Gorge is open, you can also walk through it in the rain, but be careful not to fall on slippery ground.

In warmer months and rainy weather, you can enjoy the views from below the roof of a tourist train.

Enjoy in indoor pools of various hotel around Bled. Warm up in saunas or enjoy a relaxing massage in one of the wellness centres.

Taste Bled and Slovenia! Excellent cuisine awaits you in various Bled restaurants and inns. Take a bite out of the tasty cuisine, especially the famous Bled cream cake.

Visit an interesting exhibition about Gorenjska and Triglav National Park at Triglavska roža Bled Info Centre. Visit other current exhibitions, such as the “Magical beasties” exhibition.

Visit the Church of St Martin that was built in Neogothic style in the beginning of the 20th century and view the beautiful frescoes.

From October to March you can also skate at the ice skating rink of the Bled Sport Hall.

Explore Bled's surroundings. Medieval towns with well-preserved city centres are not far away: Radovljica, Tržič, Kranj and Škofja Loka. Spend your rainy day in aquapark in Bohinj or various museums; visit the Slovenian Alpine Museum in Mojstrana or various iron industry museums in Jesenice. Or take a trip to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, or drive to two of the most famous cave systems in Slovenia: the Postojna Cave and Škocjan Caves.
