The Bled Bus: A Free Tourist Shuttle for Exploring the Bled Area

The Bled Bus is a free public shuttle that will operate daily from 1 July to the end of August, connecting the wider Bled area via three different routes. Designed for both visitors and residents, the service makes it easy to explore Bled’s natural and cultural attractions every day.

Thanks to its connections to trailheads in Triglav National Park, it’s also an ideal option for hikers returning to the valley by alternative routes. Travel across lines is unlimited and completely free. No reservations are required or possible, and the service is not intended for organised groups. Pets are welcome, but they must be kept on a leash at all times and must not move freely on the bus. Dogs must wear a muzzle, and all animals must be clean and dry.

We recommend planning your journey in advance – check available parking options and choose transport modes that offer more space, less stress, and a closer connection to the environment. Instead of searching for parking in the town centre, leave your car at the Central Car Park, which offers day parking and fast access to all public transport options. From there, explore Bled by foot, by bike, tourist train, or the Bled Bus – worry-free and with more time to enjoy your visit.

The first route, Pokljuka, runs twice a day and is an excellent option for hikers, as it leads to trailheads for multi-day hikes in Triglav National Park. The bus also has space for up to five standard bicycles.

The second route, Countryside – Village Loop, operates three times a day along a circular route through Seliše, Zasip, Ribno, and Bohinjska Bela. It is intended for those who wish to explore the lesser-known yet exceptionally scenic villages surrounding Bled.

The third route, Lakeside – Around the Lake, runs ten times daily and connects key points around Lake Bled. It also stops at the new central parking area below Bled Castle and continues up to the castle.

A special addition this year is the Radovljica Bus, a summer line connecting Radovljica, Lesce, Kamp Šobec, River Camping Bled, and Bled. The free service offers guests staying at the area’s largest campsites a more sustainable way to explore the region, while also helping to reduce traffic and establish a link between Lake Bled and the historic old town of Radovljica.

The Vintgar Shuttle departs from the main Bled bus station every 60 minutes and takes visitors directly to the entrance of the gorge. The last departure from Bled is one hour before the gorge closes, while return transfers from the gorge to Bled are available for up to two hours after closing time.
