Innovative Bled ice rink to open just before the Christmas holidays

As part of the Winter Fairytale 2023/24, an innovative ice rink with the view towards Lake Bled and Bled Castle will come to life on the lower platform of the Bled Shopping Centre just before the Christmas holidays, inviting visitors to skate from 22 December onwards. Welcome to the ultimate skating experience on a rink made of sustainable synthetic ice. The rink will be open from 14:00 to 20:00 during the week and from 10:00 to 20:00 during weekends, holidays and New Year's break.

The future of ice skating is sustainable and innovative

In view of the sustainable nature of Bled, the base of the city's ice rink will be made of synthetic ice, which heralds a future of skating that is kind to our planet.

The innovative synthetic skating surface contributes to the conservation of water resources by saving approximately 15,000 litres of water, operating without the need for electricity to maintain a cool temperature, and reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 7.7 tonnes.

The synthetic surface provides a superior skating experience with minimal friction and excellent grip, while being less slippery compared to natural ice, increasing the safety of visitors, especially children and the elderly.

Friday will be a day like a dream for our little ones! After an adventure on the ice rink, head to the Lakeside Promenade at 5 pm for a children's show, accompanied by Santa and his helpers. At 20:00, there will be a Christmas concert by Eva Boto and the band. 

There is no entrance fee

To skate on the innovative synthetic surface, you will need regular skates, which can also be rented on site for EUR 5.00, so don't forget your gloves and warm clothes for a winter ice experience. There is no entrance fee.
