Road closure on a part of the circular path around the Bled Lake
12.01.2024 | News
On Monday, 8 January, the Municipality of Bled began the construction of a new cantilever pavement in Mlino. During the construction, a partial roadblock of a section of the national road will be in place. Alternating one-way traffic will be regulated using traffic lights, while this section of the road will be completely closed off for pedestrians.
This long-overdue renovation of the cantilever pavement in Mlino is taking place during low tourist season, with the purpose of terminating the construction before the beginning of the summer tourist season, thus providing fluid traffic through Bled at the time when those roads are most congested.
During the construction, the road is completely closed off for pedestrians at the section of the circular path around the Bled Lake between the port of Mlino and the villa “Beli dvor” next to the tunnel. The circular path around the Bled Lake will be interrupted during the aforementioned period; pedestrians will be informed about the construction taking place on the circular path around the Bled Lake with warning signs set up at several locations on the path around the lake. With the exception of the aforementioned section, the remaining portion of the footpath around the lake can be accessed as before.
Before the closed section, pedestrians can choose one of the thematic or hiking trails leading over the Straža Hill, or use the local road through Mlino and Selo in the direction of Dindol or Ribno; if you are leaving Bled and heading towards Mlino, you can use the same trails in the opposite direction or opt for the northern part of the lake (counter-clockwise).
We thank all locals and visitors for their understanding and tolerance during the period of renovation of the cantilever pavement.
The contractor is Gorenjska gradbena družba d.d., and the work is scheduled to be completed before the May Day holidays.
