MAGICAL BEASTS
Magical Beasts Bled is a unique combination of shelter, museum and mini zoo. It is home to exotic animals such as reptiles, turtles, amphibians and avian spiders. They are joined by fluffy animals including Wilma the pet cat, chinchillas, rabbits, hamsters and other cute mammals, who are part of their animal family. Visitors can observe them in their habitats, and from time to time they take up the role of caretakers or keepers, making a visit to the Magical Beasts a very special experience.
Magical Beasts also has an additional offer of a caretaker program for a day, a birthday celebration or training in the form of a course, which is recommend especially to those who are thinking about buying an exotic pet.
During the holidays, including winter holidays, between 19 February and 1 March 2024, children in the upper grades of primary school can attend a special holiday camp and spend five days or less with animals, help with care, and direct and guide visitors in the Slovenian or English language.
The Magical Beasts’ programme during the winter holidays has been greatly enriched, namely with an hour of fairy tales, which will take place on Thursday, 22 February and 19 February, from 16:00 to 17:00 in the Slovenian or English language. You are also invited to a night tour of the little beasts, which will take place between 18:00 and 20:00 on Saturday, 17 February, 24 February and 2 March.

A MILLION LEGO BRICKS IN BLED AND ONE ACTUAL DINOSAUR
On Friday, 16 February 2024, a brand new Lego exhibition was opened in Bled. A large diorama of dinosaurs and the skeleton of a real mosasaur, the underwater kingdom of Pirates of the Caribbean, Cowboys and Indians, Pirates with the Black Pearl, and Angry Birds and Snoopy with friends have been transformed into the bright colours of the eternally popular bricks. The most admired creations, such as Star Wars and the battle on the planet Hoth, Castle of the Black Dragons and Princess Castle with a chocolate forest, the eternal The Beatles with a yellow submarine and Plečnik's church and piles, were kept from the past Lego exhibition.
In addition to the million Lego bricks on display, there are also three playrooms available for all Lego lovers, where all visitors (regardless of age) can play with Lego bricks.

ESCAPE ROOM
When the doors of the interactive escape room in Bled opened in 2015, it immediately impressed both domestic and foreign visitors, and the travel portal TripAdvisor named it the most fun activity in Bled, according to the visitors' choice. Everyone who wants to strengthen mutual ties is invited to an unforgettable adventure that requires cooperation and communication. Also suitable from families with children.

FAMILY THEME TRAILS
Don't upset the Bled Goldhorn is a theme trail that leads around Lake Bled and includes six stops, where children will learn about the beauty of Bled, cultural and natural attractions in a fun and original way and relive one of the most famous fairy tales through children's imagination.

Notice: During the construction, expected to be completed by 1 May 2024, the road is completely closed off for pedestrians at the section of the circular path around the Bled Lake between the port of Mlino and the villa “Beli dvor” next to the tunnel.
Grumble bear trail near Bohinjska Bela, which is marked with bear paws, also invites you to a pleasant family walk. The trail takes you along the path that the Grumble bear took, and you will discover what happened to him on his way through the village. At the end of the trail, a real surprise awaits all those who persevere - a look into a real bear's den.

ICE SKATING
Go ice skating with a view of Lake Bled and the castle on the lower platform of the Bled Shopping Centre, where an innovative ice rink made of sustainable synthetic ice will be installed until 3 March 3 2024. During the winter holidays (19 February 2024 - 1 March 2024), the skating rink is open between 10:00 and 20:00. Skates can be rented on site at a price of EUR 5.00, and a skating aid shaped like a seal is available for the youngest. Ice skating with your own skates is also possible outside of these times. There is no admission fee.
During the winter holidays, you can also go ice skating at the Bled Sports Hall, where recreational ice skating is available every day between 17 and 25 February 2024, between 9:30 and 11:00 and from 16:30 to 18:00. You are also invited to the Disco on ice, which takes place on Fridays between 21:30 and 23:00.

THE BLED SKI BUS WILL TAKE YOU TO THE SKI SLOPES NEARBY
Until 3 March 2024, the Bled Ski Bus will take you to the ski slopes in Kranjska Gora, Pokljuka and Vogel. To secure your spot, be sure to sign up using the online form until 20:00 on the day before departure.
All the nearby ski centres are suitable for families with small children, this season a panoramic circular Zadnji Vogel cable car started operating in Vogel, which is also accessible for the physically challenged, families with small children and strollers. Ski slopes in Kranjska Gora and Pokljuka, very popular family ski resorts where there is, in addition to ski trails, also a sledding run and equipment rental available, are less than an hour's drive from Bled.
- The price of a return ticket for the Bled Ski Bus is EUR 10.00, and a season ticket at a price of EUR 30.00, which is non-transferable, is available for purchase at the Triglavska roža Bled Infocentre.
- For children up to the age of 14 accompanied by an adult, holders of the Julian Alps card: Bled and holders of the Julian Alps International Ski Pass the transport is free of charge.
- Before visiting the ski slopes, check the current snow conditions.

AUTHENTIC BLED: HORSE-DRAWN CARRIAGES, VISITING THE ISLAND BY THE “PLETNA” BOAT, TOURING CASTLE BLED
You will find Bled's coachmen or “fijakerji” at the stop under the Festival Hall, and you will recognise them by their black jacket, trousers and hat, white shirt and vest with embroidered Gorenje carnations. During cold months, they will dress in burgundy red jackets and cover you with a red blanket. Riding with the carriages is a unique experience for children and families as well, which takes you back to the long-forgotten, old times.

Take a boat trip to the magical Bled Island with a traditional “pletna” boat and climb the 99 stone steps to the Church of the Mother of God and ring the wishing bell that echoes across the lake and carries thanks and prayers to the Holy Mother of God into the sky In the Potičnica on the island, you can also taste, buy or order traditional Slovenian pastry called “potica”.

Heavenly view of the emerald lake, romantic islet and Bled Castle on a steep white rock in the background. The first sight of one of the oldest castles in Slovenia impresses with its grandeur and unique views. Today, the castle hosts a museum with a permanent exhibition of the National Museum of Slovenia, which shows the varied history of Bled and its inhabitants, Rikli's room, a Gothic chapel with baroque frescoes from the 16th century, a castle printing house with a replica of Gutenberg's printing works, a wine cellar and an apiary, a café and the restaurant Blejski castle, where you will be served local dishes, prepared in a modern way.
Children will certainly be most excited about visiting the castle printing works, where the real castle printer lives. There, with the help of the castle printer, they will be able to make a commemorative document printed on a replica of Gutenberg's printing press. The price of an A5 commemorative document is EUR 10.00, and an A4 is EUR 15.00.

BLED GASTRONOMY
The vast majority of restaurants in Bled are family-friendly, as smaller portions for children have been placed on the menus, adapted to their tastes, and in most of them high chairs for children are also available. Among the sweet stops for small children, we recommend the Zima confectionery and the Kavarna Park, where children will be impressed by a real robot.
