Rikli’s hiking stick

A hiking stick with an inserted chamois horn was one of the trademarks of Swiss healer Arnold Rikli. It was part of the hiking equipment that Rikli recommended for walking along the "and air bath” paths. He himself faithfully respected and used this characteristic equipment until his death, which he officially introduced in his work “The Light and Air" of 1877.

A smaller Rikli's stick with original Bled Mountain signs from the end of the 19th century has been preserved. This hiking stick later become very popular also among the locals. Today, it is made by Vojko Zavodnik and other master craftsmen based on the model of Rikli's original sticks.
