Rikli’s clogs

Did you know that wooden clogs attached to the belt were part of the hiking equipment for atmospheric treatment, which was introduced in Bled by healer Arnold Rikli?

Rikli used to have his clogs made by a local resident, Peter Kolman from Zasip. Today, his tradition is continued by his grandson, Alojz Ropret, in collaboration with other local artisans. The current model of the clogs follows the preserved original from the second half of the 19th century.

The clogs are made of maple or linden from the Bled area and leather, and natural dyes are used.
