Church of St Stephen
Walk to the small village and church that is most known for blessing horses.
The village Church of St Stephen is located in the centre of Kupljenik. It was first mentioned in the first half of the 16th century, i.e. in the written records about horse blessing.
An ancient pilgrimage route leads to the medieval Gothic church, which has become known mostly for its tradition of local farmers bringing their horses for blessing along that route. The tradition has been preserved and every year on St Stephen's Day, 26 December, the annual horse blessing takes place at the Church of St Stephen.
