Kavarna Belvedere (Café Belvedere)

Café Belvedere, featuring a historic ambience, offers an unforgettable view of the lake and island. The pavilion perched on high pillars above Vila Bled was designed by the famous Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik as the "waiting room" for audiences of the Yugoslavian King Alexander. Here is where the Yugoslav president Tito hosted members of royalty, presidents and famous people at tea parties, cognac and cigars. Nowadays, especially in summer, the café spoils your taste buds with a selection of desserts and drinks. Many say that the best view of Lake Bled and the island is right from here. A reward for those who climb up the stairs leading from the walking path around the lake.
