Bohinjska Bela
A village that invites you to relax in nature and discover the picturesque surroundings.
The village is located on the left bank of the Sava Bohinjka River, south-west from Bled. The oldest part of the village dating back to 1000, is the Spodnja or Dolenja vas with the village Church of St Margaret. The smaller section, built below the rocky Iglica, is called Zgornja or Gorenja vas and has the most houses. The youngest part of Bohinjska Bela is Podklanec which has developed in the past hundred years around the railway and bus station.
Small settlement Obrne is only one kilometre away in the direction towards Bohinj. Right above Bohinjska Bela is a small settlement Slamniki with a magnificent view of the Bled area. Kupljenik village is on the right bank of the Sava Bohinjka River, where you can find the Church of St Stephen that offers a beautiful view of the countryside and Bled. The entry to the Jama pod Babjim zobom cave is quite near. You can visit the cave with a local expert guide.
Bohinjska Bela is the perfect choice for your vacation. It offers many private rooms and an inn with great local food and sport activities such as climbing on Iglica, fishing and other water sports on the Sava Bohinjka River. Bohinjska Bela is the perfect starting point for hikes. For instance, you can hike to 1,256 metres high Galetovec, which is one of the most beautiful panoramic points above the Sava Bohinjka Valley, and to 1,128 metres high Babji zob, which offers a beautiful view of Lake Bled and its surroundings.
