The closure of the footpath around Lake Bled will be lifted before Christmas

On the main Cesta svobode road, which runs through Bled towards Bohinj, construction works will be taking place until the end of January 2026. Due to the works, a full closure has been introduced on the footpath that circles Lake Bled. As construction progresses, the closure will be lifted on the weekend before the Christmas holidays, allowing the footpath to be fully reconnected.

Traffic on this section will continue to run alternately in one direction until the works are completed, regulated by traffic lights. During peak hours, the Intermunicipal Inspectorate of the Municipalities of Bled, Bohinj and Železniki will provide manual traffic control.

The closure on the affected part of the footpath will be lifted for the weekend before the Christmas holidays. The six-kilometre walking path around Lake Bled will once again be fully connected, allowing visitors to complete the circular route. The public will be informed in due course of the exact timing of the reopening.
