Hike to Rudnica
Rudnica is a panoramic hill rising to 936 metres between the Upper and Lower Bohinj valleys and is suitable for visits throughout the year. Its position often places the summit above the fog, adding appeal during winter months. Marked trails lead to the top from four directions: Lake Bohinj, Stara Fužina, Brod and Srednja vas. Along the ascent, views open across both valleys, Lake Bohinj and the chain of peaks surrounding the basin. At the summit, a stamp box and logbook are available. The terrain is gentle enough to suit visitors with different levels of experience and pace.

Hike to Vogar
Vogar is an accessible viewpoint above the northern shore of Lake Bohinj, located at 1054 metres above sea level. The short but steep ascent from Stara Fužina makes it suitable as a stand-alone trip or as a starting point for longer ridge walks. Views from the trail and the summit extend across both Bohinj valleys, the lake and the peaks of the Bohinj and Tolmin mountains. The area is also known among paragliders, as thermal conditions are often favourable. At the top stands Kosijev dom, where refreshments, a stamp and a logbook are available. Good footwear is required due to the altitude gain of around five hundred metres.

The Alpine Dairy Museum
The Alpine Dairy Museum presents life on the Bohinj mountain pastures through objects, photographs and preserved documentary material. Visitors can see the original cheese-making workshop with two large kettles and a press for shaping cheese wheels, together with authentic tools used by dairy farmers. A special part of the exhibition is a wooden shepherd’s hut from the Zajamniki pasture, dating from 1849 and furnished as it was during its period of use. Alpine dairy museum in Bohinj dates back to the 13th century, when limited arable land, long winters and short summers led residents to rely on livestock grazing and milk processing for most of their food. The museum offers a clear insight into this way of life and the role dairy products played in everyday nutrition.

Lake Bohinj
Lake Bohinj is the largest permanent natural lake in Slovenia and offers many activity options throughout the year. It lies in a glacial basin holding almost one hundred million cubic metres of water, with depths that drop sharply without extensive shallow areas. In summer, surface temperatures can reach twenty-four degrees, while in winter the lake often freezes. During heavy rainfall, the water level can rise by more than three metres. Only one tenth of the lake is shallower than ten metres, while eighty percent is deeper than twenty metres, making Lake Bohinj one of the more hydrologically distinctive alpine lakes. Between the Church of the Holy Spirit and Pod Skalco lies a deposit of lake chalk, while south of the church is one of the few quartz porphyry deposits in the Julian Alps. More than fifty species of planktonic algae, around sixty invertebrate species and at least sixteen fish species have been recorded in the lake. Water flows out via the Jezernica, Slovenia’s second shortest river, which continues as the Sava Bohinjka after joining the Mostnica.
