Despite the demanding conditions governing the implementation of construction work for the project of the construction of the Betin roundabout, the contractor will terminate the first phase of the construction work ahead of schedule.

According to the initial schedule, the work in the first phase (the upper part of the Betin slope) was scheduled to be completed by 24 March, after which the construction work in the second phase would follow from 1 to 24 April (the lower part of the Betin slope). Alternating one-way traffic was scheduled during the construction of both phases, except from 24 March to 1 April when two-way traffic was planned.

Due to the early termination of the construction work in the first phase, as well as field observations noting that alternating one-way traffic does not cause any significant issues, a decision has been adopted by the Slovenian Infrastructure Agency and the contractor to immediately continue working on the second phase after the end of the first phase, which is scheduled for Tuesday, 12 March. In this way, work in both phases will be terminated by 24 March 2024, meaning that the partial road closure which was initially planned from 1 to 24 April will no longer be necessary. No significant changes are expected to occur in terms of traffic control, with the exception of the closure area. As per the original plan, alternating one-way traffic will be regulated using traffic lights, as well as manual traffic direction methods during rush hours or during the day, until 24 March.
