Where can I buy a ticket?

Due to a limited number of tickets, it is recommended to buy online tickets in advance.

 

Where is the entrance to the Vintgar Gorge? 

The walk through the gorge is only possible one-way. The entrance is in Podhom. 

 

How to reach the Vingar Gorge?

  • From 1 July to 22 September, the free Vintgar Shuttle will run every full hour from 8:00 to 18:00 from Bled Central Bus Station.
  • Access is possible on foot from the direction of Bled. See more information about the hike >
  • You can take a bike or e-bike from Bled to the entrance of the gorge. Bike from Bled via Podhom to Klinarjev klanec to the gorge entrance (30 min), where you park your bike. Walk across the gorge (45 min) and take the River of Trees Trail (45 min) or the King of Triglav Trail (past St. Catherine) (55 min) back to the entrance of the gorge, where you parked your bike.   • You can get close to the gorge by train. From Bled Jezero train station you can reach Podhom train station in just 3 minutes and then continue on foot to the entrance of the gorge (15 minutes). After a walk through the gorge (45 minutes) continue on the King of Triglav Trail over St. Catherine back to the train station (50 min). Alternatively, at the end of the gorge, decide to walk to the train station on Blejska Dobrava (25 minutes) and from there take the train back to Bled Jezero station. Train timetable >
  • You can get close to the gorge by a bus from the Bled bus station to the Podhom bus station or the Spodnje Gorje bus station. Then go on foot to the entrance of the gorge (25 min). You can return along the River of Trees Trail (45 min + 25 min) or along the King of Triglav Trail (55 min + 25 min) back to the station. Bus timetable >
  • You can reach the entrance of the gorge by motorcycle or by taxi (contacts >).
  • If you are coming by car, you cannot park at the entrance of the Vintgar Gorge. You can park at one of the two parking places (Central parking Vintgar LIP, Parking Vintgar Blejska Dobrava) and take the free Vintgar Shuttle (from the Parking Vintgar Blejska Dobrava the shuttle runs only until 2.9.). It drives on every 20 min from the Central parking Vintgar LIP and on every full hour from the Parking Vintgar Blejska Dobrava.

How much time do I need to visit the Vintgar Gorge?

Take enough time, as the tour of the gorge is one-way. The return trip to the starting point will take you about 3 hours.

 

Can I see the Vintgar Gorge by myself or is there a guided tour available?

You can see the gorge yourself, an audio guide is also available. Alternatively, you can book a guided tour and see the gorge with a local guide who will tell you many interesting things.
