Bled Chess Festival 2026

In March 2026, Bled will once again become the centre of the global chess scene with the Bled Chess Festival. The main event of the festival will be the OPEN tournament in classical chess. The festival will be enriched by a varied accompanying programme, including Evenings with a Grandmaster, morning walks with a Grandmaster around Lake Bled, a tour of Bled Castle and a boat trip, culinary tastings, a simultaneous exhibition, a seminar with Grandmaster and psychologist Jana Krivec, as well as evening rapid-play tournaments, including Chess960 and a memorial tournament.

The festival ambassadors will be Grandmasters Laura Unuk and Markus Ragger.

Only players with a FIDE rating of 2300 or below are eligible to participate in the tournament.
