Carnival of the Bled Legends

The main theme of this year's carnival is the Legends of Bled, but participating local associations can also choose any other theme they wish, but it is preferable to wear a group mask.

So who are the Legends of Bled?

This year, some of them are on display on the lakeside promenade - the traditional Bled cream cake, a horse and sleigh representing the fijakers, pletna boat, a duck family and a knight. But it is not only Bled's traditions that are legendary - outstanding local people are also legends, such as the mathematical genius Josip Plemelj, the notorious healer Arnold Rikli, the innovator Peter Florjančič, the hotelier and mayor Jakob Peternel, the entrepreneur and hotelier Jula Molnar... Bled's athletes and Olympians are legendary too. There are many of them in Bled - from rowers, alpine skiers, ski jumpers, runners, hockey players, golfers, swimmers... So Bled legends are everyone and everything that is your first association with the paradisiacal image of Bled. Let your imagination and creativity run wild, at least once a year, and put on a mask that will successfully chase away winter, bring back spring and put smiles on the faces of visitors to the carnival, creating a positive atmosphere.  

We will gather between 14:00 and 14:30 at Infrastruktura Bled, from where the procession will continue its way through Bledec to Lakeside Promenade, where the masks will be presented to the spectators, followed by a party for children and adults masks with the musical group Karneval band.

You are invited to come and participate in creating a real carnival atmosphere in Bled!
