Winter Swimming World Championships 2020
03.02.2020 - 09.02.2020  /  Mala Zaka, Lake Bled
As one of the world’s most stunning venues, last year Bled was again featured in the event calendar of the International Winter Swimming Association (IWSA) as it hosted a World Cup race in preparation for the Winter Swimming World Championship that will be held in Bled from 3 to 9 February 2020. The championships is expected to draw to Bled more than one thousand swimmers from all over the globe. More than ten winter swimming events take place worldwide every year, including five IWSA World Cup races, while the World Championship is run biannually.
The competitions will take place at the Olympic Rowing Centre at Mala Zaka. The event will offer a spectacular venue and an attractive competition programme. In addition to non-competitive events intended for all daring winter swimmers, swimmers will be able to take part in 14 competitive events, including a special long-distance challenge of 450m and 1000m routes. Swimmers will also be able to join a relay race or take part in a special team event, which will push the total number of events held in the three-day competition up to 17.
