Homemade rose jelly – or an excellent opportunity to literally wake up and smell the roses on a plate.
The Garden of Flavours with a wonderful view of Bled also has an intoxicating scent of roses. The scent of these dark red Crimson Glory beauties have also seduced Mateja Reš, who used them to create the delicious “Sladka vrtnica” (Sweet Rose) jelly. The scent is well-preserved in sugar, while lemon adds a bit of freshness. The silky pink rose jelly is a delicious addition to vanilla ice cream, yoghurt, cottage cheese, pancakes, or a cup of sliced strawberries.
