“Potica” – the queen of all pralines
A story of how this traditional Slovenian dish found its way into delicious pralines.
“Potica” is definitely one of the most recognisable Slovenian dishes and a regular feature on every holiday table. The local chocolate shop “Molinet” in the vicinity of Bled combined tradition with current trends, giving a contemporary twist to this traditional dessert with their knowledge and ideas. The pralines they have created in cooperation with ethnologist Dr Janez Bogataj encompass the four most frequently encountered flavours of “potica” filling – walnuts, tarragon, poppy, and almonds. Chocolate pralines in the shape of a “potičnik” baking dish come in an elegant packaging with elements of lace, another symbol of Slovenian tradition and heritage. As a whole, the product can be an excellent gift from Slovenia.
