Wooden toy and “Guardian of Lake Bled” fairy tale
Ecological didactic toy encouraging the development of children’s imagination, and a story that will convey the meaning of protecting this iconic Alpine lake to children.
The toys our grandparents played with definitely didn’t squeak or light up. Instead, they played with whatever they could find in nature. Using one’s imagination, a piece of wood quickly turned into a fun toy. In a similar vein, Ana Šircelj’s wooden toys also encourage the development of children’s imagination, allowing them to explore different opportunities for play and stimulating their development. They are made using sturdy, ecological home-grown wood that is safe to use. Children can use wooden parts to assemble a lake with an island, trees and a swan. Further inspiration for play can be provided by the enclosed fairy tale available in both Slovene and English.
