Spicy “prga” sauce
A tasty sauce made from honey “tepka” pears and chilli peppers.
“Tepka” pears are the identifying feature of Zasip, as well as an important part of its culinary heritage. Housewives incorporate honey or dried fruits into different dishes. In the Zasip Cultural and Artistic Society, the members of the Active of Women from Prgarija follow the tradition of their ancestors, creating various delicacies using “tepka” pears and “prge”, their dried equivalents. This heritage, and a little bit of imagination, helped the women from Prgarija to create the delicious spicy “prga” sauce made from honey “tepka” pears, chilli peppers, and a pinch of salt. The sauce pairs perfectly with venison, beef, and fried chicken.
