Sava Dolinka River

Enjoy the natural beauties along the river bed or venture out on an adrenaline experience.

The Sava Dolinka springs as a karst spring in Zelenci near Podkoren, where you can find a nice small lake in magnificent greenish colours, which is protected as a natural reserve. The river flows through the Upper Sava Valley and Ljubljana Basin to Radovljica, where it merges with Sava Bohinjka River and continues as Sava River for 221 kilometres across Slovenia and then another 726 kilometres until it runs into the Danube near Belgrade.

From Moste downwards, the river has carved several river terraces. Berje wetland, which is a 22 hectares large plain on the right banks of the Sava Dolinka River, between Zasip and Bled, is very important from the aspect of biodiversity.

The Sava Dolinka River is suitable for rafting and other water sports, you can also ride on zipline along the river bed high above the river.
