Slovenian evening: Gorenjski Kvintet

Gorenjski Kvintet began their musical journey in 1997 in Begunje na Gorenjskem, the birthplace of the renowned Avsenik family, whose legacy has shaped Slovenian folk music for generations.

While the ensemble primarily performs Avsenik’s timeless melodies, their repertoire also includes a wide range of original folk compositions and lively Slovenian and international polkas with a touch of Gypsy flair—all delivered in the classic quintet style.

The members of Gorenjski Kvintet are:

• Gregor Korošec – accordion
• Gregor Drugovič – baritone and bass
• Gregor Vindiš – clarinet
• Klemen Novšak – guitar
• Jaka Einfalt – trumpet
• Vocalists: Katja Križnar and Matjaž Zadravec

With strong roots in tradition and a passion for performance, Gorenjski Kvintet brings energy, authenticity, and joy to every stage.
