Ansambel Abuhi is a four-member folk music group from the Koroška region of Slovenia. Their unique name comes from a bird of prey known for stealing chickens—whether it’s a buzzard or a hawk, they leave that up to their audience to decide!

The band was formed in 2012 by Rožle Javornik, Tadej Breznik, Alen Kogelnik, and Gregor Kolar, who first met while singing together in the Academic Choir of Maribor. What started as a shared love for music has grown into a successful and energetic ensemble known across Slovenia.

Over the years, Abuhi have earned widespread recognition and numerous awards. At the 27th Slovenian Folk Music Festival in Vurberk, they took home:

At the 51st Ptuj Folk Music Festival, they won the Koren Plaque for Best Vocal Performance with their original song Polnočni ples (Midnight Dance).

Abuhi are known for their high-energy performances and catchy, heartfelt melodies that continue to win over audiences across Slovenia.
