Ansambel Poljanšek is made up of four energetic young men from the scenic Tuhinj Valley near Kamnik, Slovenia. As their name suggests, the group represents the next generation of the legendary Poljanšek Brothers Ensemble.
Brought together by a shared passion for the music of Rudi Poljanšek—father of the group’s lead singer and bandleader, Sandi Poljanšek—the ensemble is proud to carry on a rich musical tradition.
Their repertoire centers around the beloved folk songs of the Poljanšek Brothers but also includes timeless pieces by Avsenik Brothers Ensemble, Lojze Slak, Franc Mihelič, and Modrijani, offering a well-rounded experience for fans of Slovenian folk music.
The band features:
- Sandi Poljanšek – vocals
- Marko Tomc – accordion and keyboards
- Miha Cerar – drums, guitar, and trumpet
- Boris Koderman – baritone and bass guitar
With deep roots and fresh energy, Ansambel Poljanšek is keeping the spirit of Slovenia’s folk music alive for new generations.
