velikonočni bled

From 20 March to 12 April, we invite you to enjoy the festive programme of Easter in Bled. Spa Park will come alive with a celebratory atmosphere, filled with the aromas of homemade delicacies and a fair of local and artisan crafts. The central highlight will be an exhibition of Easter eggs created in the Gorenjska region, inspired by the motifs of Maksim Gaspari. The eggs were cast in Gorenjska and painted with these motifs by two local artists.

A breathtaking exhibition

The main attraction of this year’s festive programme in Spa Park (Zdraviliški park) is an exhibition of unique Easter eggs. Visitors will be able to admire four monumental works of art, each standing an impressive two metres tall.

These unique exhibits are the result of local craftsmanship and artistic talent. The bases were cast by the Gorenjska master craftsman Iztok Justin, while their final appearance was created by visual artists Tim Pregrad and Žiga Hajdinjak. Through paintings inspired by Maksim Gaspari, they tell stories of Bled’s recognisable symbols and traditions.

Gaspari, one of Slovenia’s most important painters and illustrators, left an unforgettable mark on Slovenian folk heritage and traditional costume through his distinctive style. His connection with Bled runs deep: his famous wall works "The Lake" and "The Bled Madonna" have helped shape the town’s identity for decades, while his legendary Easter postcards brought Slovenian aesthetics into homes around the world.

Pregrad and Hajdinjak, known for their confident mastery of large-scale formats, have brought a fresh, contemporary visual language to Spa Park (Zdraviliški park). Pregrad has already left his distinctive artistic signature on the building of the Kranj City Library and on walls as part of the Street Art Ljubljana project, and in collaboration with Layer House he also created a 10-metre-high mural of Gaspari’s "Spinner". Hajdinjak is a specialist in acrylic painting on canvas, but is always keen to join Pregrad on his projects. This time, the pair have channelled their characteristic creative energy onto the surface of the Easter eggs, where contemporary expression respectfully intertwines with Gaspari’s motifs and the original stories of Bled that carried this aesthetic into homes around the world.

Craft Fair and Festive Atmosphere

Lovers of handicrafts and tradition will be in their element at the Arts and crafts fair, where this year many exhibitors with special Easter-themed offerings will join the established stallholders. The fair will be a true feast for the eyes, bringing together a rich variety of crafts and materials.

Visitors will be able to admire the artistry of clay and ceramics, ranging from traditional pottery to unique figurines, whistles and hand-painted tableware. Warmth and natural charm come from wooden creations and other natural materials, including distinctive household items, mandalas, and bold combinations of wood, stone and resin, while jewellery lovers will be delighted by hand-painted wooden pieces.

Textiles will also be strongly represented, with tradition preserved through knitwear made from local sheep’s wool and bobbin lace, while modern flair comes through in cork fashion accessories and handmade garments. For a touch of elegance, there will be Tiffany stained glass, hand-painted glassware, and unique jewellery made from real pressed flowers. Those who value natural skincare and wellbeing will find certified natural cosmetics and spruce resin products in the “home apothecary”, while handcrafted macramé pieces and crystal energy art will add the finishing touch.

For a lasting memory of your visit to Bled, a selection of designer souvenirs will also be available – from artistic photography and painted beehive panels to leather goods and unique Bled magnets.

The fair opens on Friday, 20 March, and will enrich Bled’s festive atmosphere throughout the holiday season:
