Bledology – The Award-Winning Book About Bled, Now Available as an eBook

The acclaimed book Bledology has received two prestigious recognitions: the Top 100 Green Destinations Stories award – an international acknowledgement for Bled’s multimedia project in the field of sustainability – and the Bled Local Selection certificate, which highlights the book’s key qualities: authenticity, local origin, and respect for tradition. Originally published in English and later translated into Slovenian, Bledology is now available in digital format in addition to print.

Written by American art historian Dr Noah Charney, who has lived in Slovenia for over a decade, the book blends elements of a travel guide, travelogue, and historical narrative. It takes readers on a journey through Bled Island and Bled Castle, offers ideas for hikes, wellness experiences, outdoor activities, and revisits the healing methods of Arnold Rikli. At the same time, it serves as a cultural and gastronomic guide, featuring the iconic Bled cream cake. The book includes a Top 50 activities list, family-friendly recommendations, and travel itineraries for various lengths of stay. Enriched with photography by renowned Slovenian authors such as Simon Plestenjak, Matjaž Tančič, and Ciril Jazbec, the text is thoughtful, personal, and laced with humour and practical insight – making it truly one of a kind.
