Bled is recognised as a best-practice example of sustainable tourism in Slovenia and beyond. The ZSST accreditation now also includes the Bled Cultural Institute. The certificate, awarded to Festival Hall Bled on the basis of the Good Travel Seal evaluation, confirms their commitment to sustainable development, responsible operations, and respect for natural and cultural resources. By joining the ZSST, they have pledged to reduce environmental impact, promote local suppliers, improve energy efficiency, conserve resources, implement responsible procurement, and create a high-quality environment for visitors, partners, and staff. Achieving Platinum level demonstrates that Festival Hall Bled has met strict criteria across all these areas, reinforcing its position as a sustainable congress destination.

"We are proud to contribute to Slovenia’s green story and to set new standards in congress tourism. Receiving the Slovenia Green certification for the Bled Cultural Institute is not only a recognition, but also a commitment to continue fostering a green future for Bled and Slovenia through responsible practices."
— Mag. Lea Ferjan, Director, Bled Culture Institute

Sustainable practices embedded in operations
The certification confirms a commitment to sustainable development and environmentally responsible management in the largest venue for meetings and events in the area. As part of its sustainability strategy, the Institute has introduced a range of good practices, including encouraging the use of public transport to events, walking or cycling where possible, reducing paper usage through digital promotion materials, strict on-site waste separation, and resource conservation.

Special attention is given to collaborating with local suppliers, supporting community development and reducing the carbon footprint. Eco-conscious guidelines for event organisation have also been introduced, covering the use of sustainable materials and raising awareness among event organisers about environmental protection.

Over the past year, significant focus has also been placed on improving accessibility for vulnerable groups, reflecting a commitment to equality and a positive experience for all visitors.
