SUMMARY:Slovenian Night: Godba Gorje
DESCRIPTION:The beginnings of the Gorje Brass Band date back to 1907\, when
  it was officially founded. At the beginning it was a part of the Fire Bri
 gade\, but later it split off and became an independent association. It wa
 s the first brass band in Slovenia to dress in national costumes in 1969 a
 nd set the standard for the appearance of Slovenian brass bands. In 1986\,
  it went on its first tour to France\, to the town of Villefranche de Rour
 ergue\, and there\, as a group from the then Eastern Bloc\, impressed the 
 people to such an extent that they founded the Friends of Slovenia Club\, 
 with which they still exchange visits. Since then\, it has regularly visit
 ed festivals in various cities in France\, most recently in Port Ste in 20
 10. Marie. The orchestra has also toured in other countries\, most notably
  in Martinique in the Caribbean and in Serbia\, where it performed at the 
 Dragacevska Sabor Trubača in 2003. The Gorje Godba has a wide variety of 
 performances throughout the year - from winter performances at sporting ev
 ents in Pokljuka and Planica\, the Easter concert in Bled\, the May Day wa
 ke in Gorje\, performances at the Bled Days\, to the closing New Year&#39\
 ;s concerts in Gorje and Bled. Every few years\, it transforms itself into
  a mountain brass band and heads to Triglav with its instruments (includin
 g a drum and a tuba) to provide a pleasant atmosphere. Since 2023 it has b
 een conducted by Prof. Marko Možina\, who has been a member since his you
 th. They mostly perform a repertoire of Avsenik&#39\;s waltzes and polkas\
 , but they also venture into the waters of entertainment music from all ov
