New regional tourism and nature conservation center in Bled

At the start of the summer tourist
season, the Municipality Bled in collaboration with the Public Institute
Triglav National Park (TNP) and Bled Tourist Board on the premises of TNP on
Ljubljanska cesta 27 in Bled opened the door to regional tourism and nature
conservation center for the needs of a tourist destination Bled, Gorenjska
region, Triglav National Park and presentation of Natura 2000 sites.
With the completion of a
year-long renovation of the ground floor and basement of the TNP Management building
at the entrance to Lake Bled, the modern visitor centre at 700m2 gathers
information desk of Bled Tourist Board, Gorenjska (Slovenian Alps) and Triglav National Park, a
permanent exhibition, a multipurpose room, multimedia room, shop and snack bar
with local products.
Center is enriched by the new permanent exhibition that showcases the land
below Mt Triglav, Gorenjska region town heritage, biodiversity of meadows,
wooded plateaus, highlands and pastures. Mt Triglav.
Investor of the renovated facility is the Bled Municipality. The center
will be managed by Public Institute Triglav National Park in collaboration with
Bled Tourist Board respectively Regional destination organisation of Gorenjska.
Infocenter Triglavska roža Bled is aimed at:
- tourists staying in Bled,
- transit tourists who continue their journey to
Pokljuka and Bohinj,
- visitors of the Triglav National Park,
- residents through events,
- school groups and all who are interested in nature and
the land below Triglav.
Expected number of visitors: 35.000 annually.
Information center is open daily in summer from 8:00 – 18:00 and 8:00 –
16:00 in winter.
Admission to the permanent exhibition is free of charge. Guided tours for local
and foreign groups are available by prior arrangement.
