Pokljuka is a pristine forested plateau within the Triglav National Park and close to Bled. It is renowned as a biathlon venue, with World Cup competitions being held here every year, and is popular for teambuilding activities.
The unspoilt countryside of Pokljuka attracts sports enthusiasts and nature lovers who come here to enjoy the fresh air and the great outdoors. The palette of activities on offer is seemingly endless, ranging from cross-country skiing and snow-shoeing to mountaineering, Nordic walking, archery, biathlon shooting, riding, mountain biking and more leisurely hiking and mushroom picking.
The Triglav Pokljuka Sports Centre includes tracks for cross-country skiing and biathlon, a biathlon shooting range and stadium, as well as a contemporary hotel and restaurant, and serves as the venue or starting point for numerous competitions, sports and teambuilding activities. In addition to the Center Hotel, the Pokljuka plateau is also home to the Sport Hotel and Jelka Hotel.
Pokljuka is not only ideal for ascents to Slovenia’s highest mountain, Triglav, but also offers numerous possibilities for easier hikes. Among others, visitors may enjoy a leisurely walk to the plateau’s ‘energy points’, spots with positive radiation.
