Traffic will be routed via Betin's Hill on Lesce-Bled road, with a partial road closure

Due to the complex construction of the Betin roundabout, a changed traffic regime will be in place between the months of March and May. The partial road closure is scheduled for 4-24 March 2024 and 2-21 April 2024.

4 - 24 March 2024: first partial road closure

A first partial road closure is planned on the upper part of the Betin hill between 4 and 24 March. Traffic will be directed by traffic lights alternating one-way, with manual traffic control at peak times or during daylight hours. Due to possible traffic congestion, additional traffic calming devices are foreseen at the Avsenik roundabout in Lesce (at the AC exit) and at the roundabout at the entrance to the northern bypass.

Period from 24 March to 1 April 2024

From  24 March to 1 April 2024, there will be two-way traffic running on the right-hand lane of the existing road in the direction of Bled and on the new section in the direction of Lesce.

2 - 21 April 2024: second partial road closure

A second partial road closure will take place on the lower part of the Betin hill from 2 April until the works will be completed which is expected by 21 April. The traffic regime will be the same as during the first half road closure, i.e. alternating one-way traffic with additional traffic calming devices. From 21 April onwards, traffic will be diverted to the newly constructed part of the roundabout (over the bridge) and will be two-way.

Carrying out construction work

The works on site will be carried out during the day, for an estimated 12 hours while during the night time the necessary materials for construction will be delivered. In order to avoid congestion in Bled, a longer vehicle drop-off interval is foreseen in the direction of Lesce. By the end of May, cycling and pedestrian traffic will also be restored on the newly constructed areas.

The Infrastructure Directorate of the Republic of Slovenia also reports that, in case of favourable weather conditions, the works of the first phase will be completed before 24 March and the works of the second phase before 21 April 2024.

We ask for your understanding and tolerance during the construction works.
