Cross-country skiing is one of the nicest and most environmentally friendly forms of recreation. The sport is experiencing a rebirth throughout Europe, and makes up an important part of tourist activities in the Bled area. Flat or slightly inclined courses are simply ideal and when there is adequate snow, trails are prepared on the close outskirts of Bled connecting the surrounding villages. The best cross-country skiing terrain for visitors is the plateau Pokljuka. trails run through quiet woods and through expansive mountain graying-lands. The network of cross-country ski trails  in Pokljuka is shown on several information boards as well as in the " Bled - A Tourist Map " ( 1:30000 ). Cross-country skiing equipment can be rented and a ski school with trained instructors is also available.
